The technology I chose to research and work with this week was Geometer’s Sketchpad 5. I’m glad I got to work with GSP because I am going to use it a lot in my MATHS 360 class, and I didn’t know very much about it. I have already learned a lot about this really unique and useful program. My first impression of this program was that it was just a kind of geometry drawling program. I couldn’t have been more wrong. This program can do so much more. I found a bunch of activities on the GSP website that were really cool. The majority of the activities were geometry related of course but what I thought was cool was that there were a bunch of algebra, pre-calculus, and even some calculus activities. This software can be used as an easy to use instructional tool in any math class. Its flexibility and many uses make it one of the most powerful instructional tools I have ever seen for a math class.
